More than 100 graduate students are part of the vibrant intellectual community that makes up the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. From October 2 through 6, Kellogg is honoring our doctoral fellows, doctoral affiliates, and Master of Global Affairs fellows – and the important contributions they bring to the Institute – as we join the larger Notre Dame community in celebrating Graduate Student Appreciation Week.

 

 

Kellogg graduate students are warmly invited to join us at regular and special events throughout the week. 

Come early to enter for a chance to win a branded laptop bag full of stuff and other prizes at select events! All raffle winners must be present at the time of drawing.

 

Monday, October 2

  • Kellogg graduate students and Keough School MGAs are invited to kick off the week by picking up Goodie Bags in the Kellogg Institute main office at Jenkins Hall. We will greet grads and hand out goodies from 10:00 to 11:30 am.


Tuesday, October 3
  • Graduate Research Grant Information Session and Showcase
    As a Kellogg Institute Graduate Student Affiliate, you have privileged access to several grants supporting your professional development and research endeavors. During this session, former Kellogg Doctoral Student Affiliate Kayla Hurd, consultant with the Office of Grants and Fellowships, will discuss components of a successful grant proposal as well as leave ample time for your questions. Come learn tips about applying for these grants from previous winners (Ivoline Budji Kefen, Tomas Gold, Anna Johnson, Josephine Lechartre, and Jake Turner)! The tips shared can be applicable to other external grants as well, assisting you in fulfilling your career goals.

Wednesday, October 4 
  • Enjoy coffee and doughnuts at Coffee in the Commons from 8:30 to 10:30 am in the Kellogg Commons and later in the afternoon enjoy Cookies in the Commons from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

  • Panel - Transitional Justice in Practice: Advances, Challenges, and Lessons Learned from the Implementation of the Colombian Peace Accord
    Kroc Institute visiting fellow María Paula Prada Ramírez (former advisor to the President of the CEV), and Kroc Institute scholar in residence Hugo Escobar Fernández de Castro (Deputy Judge of the JEP), will discuss insights from their experience at both of these institutions. Kellogg Doctoral Student Affiliate Patrick McQuestion (PhD student in peace studies and political science) will serve as a discussant.
