Katie Muchnick is a junior majoring in English and Economics and minoring in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy. Her current research interests relate to press freedom and education, though she is excited to begin research with Dr. Tom Mustillo on the diffusion of democratizing policy around the world. On campus, Katie plays violin with the Notre Dame symphony orchestra, works as an associate news editor for The Observer, and researches Indiana immigration policy with Student Policy Network. She is excited to practice literature reviews and start learning R, with the goal of using the skills developed through Kellogg Developing Researchers to write a senior thesis.
