Congratulations to Doctoral Student Affiliate Juan Pablo Albán (law), who gave a lecture at Cornell University on judicial independence in Latin America. Albán's lecture encompassed the historical curtailing of judicial independence, obstacles to the implementation of standards for this topic, and consequences of threats against judicial independence for the success of the transitional process in Ecuador and the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia.
