I am a Phd student in Economics at University of Notre Dame. I have B.A. in Economics from Yerevan State University (YSU) and a master’s degrees in Business Administration and Economics from YSU and the International School of Economics (ISET).

Before joining Notre Dame, I worked in the Economic Research Department of the Central Bank of Armenia and was a teaching fellow of the CERGE-EI foundation and a short-term consultant at the World Bank.

My research focuses on development economics. My current projects include understanding loan/deposit currency choice in developing countries and the reasons for high levels of dollarization. Another ongoing project aims to increase financial literacy among Armenia’s rural population and help them avoid extra financial burdens. In addition, I have worked on monetary policy, analyzing optimal responses to negative foreign demand shocks in developing countries where risk premiums can be considered endogenous.
