2011-2012 This intramural grant has three components: summer research, conference travel and funding for an assistant. The summer stipend will be used to finish a data set on Chinese warfare in summer 2012. The funding for an assistant will help with analyzing the data set from mid-July to mid-August 2012. The grant also supports travel to present a conference paper entitled “What is ‘China’? A system, an empire, or a state?” in April 2012.
