About

Militza Algredo-Huerta is a member of the Class of 2029, majoring in Political Science with minors in Constitutional Studies and Catholic Social Tradition.  She is especially interested in researching Latin American countries' religious and educational structures, along with their migration patterns.  On campus, she demonstrates these passions by having previously served as the social media liaison for the Indiana Immigration Project through the Student Policy Network.  Through this, she had the opportunity to do further research on the Dignity Act and the impacts of immigrants on the workforce in varying counties throughout the state of Indiana.  Furthermore, through Mercy Works, she was able to volunteer at La Casa de Amistad, assisting in teaching citizenship classes.

Outside of this, Algredo-Huerta is the representative for Ryan Hall on the First Year Class Council and a member of the Transformational Leaders Program.  She also is a member of the Student Union Board’s First Look Into Programming and Acousticafé committees.  When not doing any of the latter, she serves through Campus Ministry and partakes in programming put on by the Institute for Social Concerns.
