Mary Kate Temple is a senior studying Film, Television, and Theatre and Global Affairs with a concentration in International Development Studies and a minor in Musical Theatre. The summer of 2022 Temple conducted field research, using the undergraduate Kellogg/ Kroc grant, in Tamale, Ghana, focusing on girls’ education and teenage pregnancy. Under the supervision of Dr. Joyce Adams, Temple conducted interviews with female teenagers and teachers in the local area. Temple is currently working on her capstone project which is the basis of her research.

During the summer of 2021, Temple was a part of the Summer Service Learning Program where she taught English and math to impoverished children in Immokalee, Florida. On campus, Temple is involved in theatre productions at the Debartolo Performing Arts Center. She was involved in student government freshmen and sophomore year advocating for sustainability and health and wellness. Temple also is a director of an arts and culture magazine on campus called Strike.
