Halle Keane is a junior from Avon, CT majoring in Spanish and economics with a minor in poverty studies. As a research assistant to colonial Latin-American historian Karen Graubart, she conducts paleography, transcribes 16th-century court documents, and completes general historical research, supporting Professor Graubart's forthcoming book on indigenous and Black legal autonomy in colonial Panamá. Beyond her assistance to Professor Graubart, Halle is particularly interested in rebellion and counter-authority movements in the Southern Cone in the twentieth century.
