About

Haley Hinkel is a junior at the University of Notre Dame majoring in Science-Business with a minor in Compassionate Care in Medicine. Haley was inspired by learning more about social determinants of health and healthcare disparities in her Foundations of Global Health course to develop a more holistic view of medicine. Haley is interested in global health and medical research to solve healthcare problems and work to improve healthcare outcomes and patient care worldwide. Through the program, she hopes to develop her quantitative and qualitative research skills, and utilize those skills in faculty or lab research as well as independent capstone research. In the future, Haley plans to attend medical school. She is involved in numerous activities on and off campus including serving as a patient care volunteer at the Center for Hospice Care, lector and Eucharistic Minister at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, and Operations Supervisor at the Smith Center gym.
