About

Emma Betz is a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame, double-majoring in Political Science and English. On campus, she is a staff writer for The Notre Dame Observer and volunteers weekly at the Center for the Homeless through ND MercyWorks. Emma is passionate about examining injustices in conviction and punishment across both domestic and international legal systems, and hopes to research how political authority shapes civilian sentencing. Ultimately, she hopes to contribute to the development of research-driven policy solutions that advance equality within judicial institutions.
