Ella Johnson is a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame majoring in Science Preprofessional Studies and Spanish and minoring in International Development Studies. Johnson is interested in navigating health care disparities across the United States and Central America, as well as studying different perceptions of health and interactions with healthcare among various groups. This past summer, Johnson worked at UW-Madison, assisting with literature research. On campus, she volunteers at La Casa de Amistad through the Center for Social Concerns and is a research assistant for the Rose Lab.
She looks forward to collaborating with faculty and peers through Kellogg and cultivating critical research skills for her studies at Notre Dame and post-graduation. As part of the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Johnson is excited to engage in meaningful work. She hopes to expand her global lens as well as contribute to closing global health disparities.
