Amelie Mayevsky ‘29 is a Biological Sciences major at the University of Notre Dame with a strong interest in global health equity and patient advocacy. Mayevsky aims to build on the work she began in her hometown as an EMT, leveraging data to develop interventions that address systemic barriers to care and improve health outcomes globally. This past summer, Mayevsky began addressing healthcare injustices through a partnership with her squad, facilitated by RISE Hometown [Institute for Social Concerns]. She plans on continuing her involvement with SOCO, where this Spring she will investigate healthcare’s intersections with poverty, housing insecurity, addiction, and migration in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. Outside of her health-related endeavors, Mayevsky is a member of the Department of Community Service and the First Undergraduate Experience in Leadership [FUEL]. Through service, leadership, and research, Mayevsky is committed to advancing a more equitable and well-informed healthcare system.
