About

Yusur Al-Mosawi is a member of the Class of ’28 at the University of Notre Dame, studying Global Affairs and Arabic. Al-Mosawi is interested in international human rights law, specifically in the Middle East, with a particular focus on how legal and political institutions shape the protection of human rights in conflict and post-conflict settings. She has engaged in research through her involvement in a democracy-focused research project at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies, in which she analyzes federal court rulings on executive orders issued under the Trump administration.

Al-Mosawi has developed her passion for human rights and democracy through language learning, viewing communication as a critical tool for breaking down cultural and political barriers, fostering peaceful dialogue, and expanding access to democratic discourse across borders. Through the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Al-Mosawi looks forward to continuing research that promotes democratic governance and global engagement.
