Tommy Kavanagh is a Junior from Southern California studying business analytics and global affairs, with a minor in real estate. He is interested in Ancient Greek history and literature, and drawing political lessons from the past. Kavanagh is working with Professor Michael Desch to uncover lessons from the Archidamian War that inform contemporary grand strategy and international security, with applications to primacy, deep engagement, offshore balancing, and restraint. Previously, Kavanagh worked with Professor Paul Winters to research environmental and social impacts from local Indiana Ag-tech start-ups. On campus, he is involved with various clubs and programs, including Real Estate ND (REND), Student International Business Council (SIBC), the Nanovich Diplomacy Scholars, the EUROFellow Research program, and the Transformational Leaders Program (TLP).
