Sam Robinson is an Economics and Political Science major from Gig Harbor, Washington. At the Kellogg Institute he is conducting research in collaboration with Professor Marc Jacob on modern voter coalitions and their role in recent pivotal elections across the globe. Robinson’s work entails extensive literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in the drafting of academic works on the topic.
Beyond work with the Kellogg Institute, Robinson is extremely passionate about the topics of national security and human rights. He is currently a fellow with the Notre Dame International Security Center and is interested in questions of economic security, particularly those surrounding supply chains and defense manufacturing. Additionally, he is working with SPN and an on-campus lab with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) to assess states’ compliance with UN reparation orders and make any necessary recommendations. In the realm of economic policy, Robinson competes in the national Fiscal Challenge, where students attempt to propose policy solutions to stabilize the US’s debt-to-GDP ratio, having placed first in the nation in the 2025 competition.
