Research Workshop: Using the 2018 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index
Oxford economist and Kellogg Institute Distinguished Research Affiliate Sabina Alkire will speak on the newly released 2018 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). A joint effort of the United Nations Development Program and Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative, the new global MPI has been revised in response to the 2030 Agenda's call for a better measure of progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 1 – “to end poverty in all its forms” – and to help achieve the principle of leaving no one behind.
The research workshop, open to faculty and graduate students, will include a presentation of the 2018 MPI and discussion around how to engage the MPI in one's research and work.
