A 2011 graduate of the University of Notre Dame who received the Kellogg Institute Kennedy Prize for his undergraduate senior thesis that year, Rodolfo Disi is associate professor of political studies at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. His research centers on the quality of municipal democracy (QMD) in Chile, offering a nuanced exploration of democratic processes at the local level. His scholarship is rooted in comparative literature and Latin American politics literature, particularly emphasizing themes like political and subnational regimes, quality of democracy, and local governance. 

In addition to book chapters Disi has written, Disi’s research has appeared in Latin American Research Review, Fondo de Cultura Económica, World Development, Economía y Política, Social Movement Studies, and more. 

He holds a PhD from the Department of Government at the University of Texas at Austin.
