Gabriel Velasquez ’29 is majoring in Global Affairs and Economics with a minor in French. He was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, is fluent in Spanish, and has intermediate proficiency in French. His research interests focus on foreign relations, particularly how Western policy has shaped and continues to impact Latin America. He is deeply involved both on and off campus, including interning with South Bend’s Mayor’s Office, co-leading research for the Indiana Immigration Project with the Student Policy Network, and serving as Interim Academic Support Director for the Latino Empowerment for Academics and Development Initiative.
