About

Samuael Kantharaj is a second-year at the University of Notre Dame majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in Irish studies. His international upbringing in Kuwait and India contributed to Samuael’s understanding of multicultural issues. As a result, Samuael is deeply interested in implementing technological systems in impoverished communities to expand educational and professional opportunities. Samuael believes that access to basic technology is crucial to developing underserved communities. He is the ISC representative for Graham Family Hall, employing his role to spread knowledge about social justice issues to his peers, and further develop his interest in this area.

Through the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Samuael hopes to gain research skills to bridge the gap between practical engineering knowledge and identifying societal needs. He aims to work on a project researching and identifying key areas where technological systems can be implemented to serve communities in his home country, India.
