About

Megan Carpenter '27 is studying Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Constitutional Studies. Her current interests include globalization, immigration, and the erosion of liberal democracies and democratic backsliding.

She is currently involved in a Kellogg project under Professor Lakshmi Iyer, where she  analyzes nonprofit organizations and updates a database tracking women's representation on city-level boards and commissions across 46 U.S. cities. Additionally, in Spring 2025, Carpenter completed a literature review examining how racial biases shape nuclear warfare and international security concerns. She also currently serves as a co-lead for a Student Policy Network (SPN) project, where she helps designs policy initiatives to improve financial literacy and tax education in immigrant communities in Chicago's Little Village.
