McKenzie Bennett is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interests focus on Black politics, social justice movements, inter-group attitudes, and political psychology.

More specifically, her dissertation examines how and why White individuals participate in racial justice endeavors, as well as how Black activists perceive White allies. Her current projects investigate Black Lives Matter (BLM) polarization as well as the causal link between attitudinal support for racial justice and political participation among White individuals.
 

Bennett is a Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program scholar and a 2021 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.
