I traveled to Los Angeles to present an article based on the Kellogg-supported research I conducted this summer, titled “Flee, Resist, or Collaborate: Civilian Identity Formation in Civil Wars”, within the panel I co-organized with Daniel Hirschel-Burns (PhD Candidate at Yale) which gathered several civil war experts, “The Role of Ideas and Identities in Civil Wars”.
In addition to being able to showcase my work and receiving feedback on it, I attended several receptions and panels related to my work to learn about cutting edge research in the field and network. I was also able to have personal meetings with colleagues, which was an important source of information about opportunities this job market cycle. Finally, I met with one of my co-authors to advance our current article in progress, which is about to be submitted to a political science journal.
