Bryan Fok is an undergraduate with majors in global affairs and history and a minor in Italian. His research interests are centered around environmental policy and Africa policy. He is working with Professor Drew Marcantonio conducting research on environment and conflict. More specifically, Fok is applying a new framework of looking at environment and conflict to specific case studies. Previously, Fok has worked on a systematic literature review on environmental provisions in formal peace agreements. In the spring of 2024, Fok studied abroad in Rome, Italy, where he was a Rome International Scholar, conducting an independent research project on American troops in Italy in the immediate aftermath of World War II. During the summer of 2023, Fok participated in the Serving (in) Europe service-learning program funded by the Nanovic Institute where he spent two months in Milan, Italy working with refugees and other marginalized groups. He was also a Diplomacy Scholar in the spring of 2023. He is the president of the Outing Club of Notre Dame.
