Kellogg International Scholars Program Alumna Alexis Palá '15 (anthropology) is currently a Research Associate of Public Services and Social Innovation at Y Lab, a global innovation foundation. She is passionate about better policy by design and more participatory, inclusive forms of policymaking and ways of governing, which is rooted in her time as an International Scholar with Kellogg. During her research at Notre Dame and her 2016 Fulbright fellowship in Chile, she learnt and will never be able to unsee how society disables which became deeply embedded in her practice.
Since graduating from Notre Dame, Palá supported a L’Arche Community for adults with intellectual disabilities in Querétaro, Mexico, served as a US Fulbright Scholar in Chile, completed an MPhil in Public Policy at Cambridge University where she did work placement research in the Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI), and then found herself based in Cardiff, Wales. In addition to her current research projects, she provides design research support to a sleep bio-health start-up to change the way people relate to sleep and co-leads the UK community of practice for Liberating Structures.
