2012-2013 In this project, Powell focuses on the link between Poland’s domestic laws and this country’s attitudes towards international law and courts. In short, the goal of this project is to validate Powell's previous findings based on large-N dataset using qualitative interviews. As such, this project fits nicely into the trajectory of her research, which so far has been based on quantitative large-N studies. Focusing on one particular case – Poland, will enable Powell to identify key mechanisms that can explain a state’s view of international law and courts.
