This profile was current as of 2015, when he was part of the on-campus Kellogg community.

I am a PhD student in the Literature Program at the University of Notre Dame. My focus of specialization is in modern and contemporary Latin American literature and culture, especially the Southern Cone as well as Brazil and the greater Portuguese-speaking world. My research interests cover the tensions between aesthetics and politics, culture and gender studies, and critical theory.

Thanks to the support of the Kellogg Institute’s Summer Fellowship, in 2010 I was able to travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil and during summer 2012 I traveled to Argentina, Brazil and Chile in order to conduct research for my upcoming dissertation entitled “The Politics of Gender and Sexuality in the Southern Cone: Gabriela Mistral, Cecília Meireles and Victoria Ocampo in the Public and Private Spheres.”

I received a master’s degree in Hispanic Philology from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain in 2009, supported by a Fundación Carolina Scholarship, from the Government of Spain for Ibero-American cooperation. I also hold a Master of Arts in Spanish Literature in 2010 from Middlebury College and I received my Licenciatura in Letters, Hispanic Literature and Linguistics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2007.
