Nii Adom Laryea-Adjei is a junior in the College of Arts and Letters, studying Political Science and Japanese Language and Culture. His interests include language and international relations, particularly between the Asia-Pacific region and Africa. This semester, he will be conducting research with Professor Sharon Yoon of the Keough School on Global Affairs.
During the summer, he participated in an 8-week intensive Japanese Language course in Hakodate, Japan, where he built on his language skills, and was able to do an Independent Study related to Ghana-Japan relations. In the future, he hopes to study more about the historical context behind Asia's rapid economic growth, and see what lessons may be applied on Africa's own development journey.
