About

Megan Toner is a junior majoring in political science. She is interested in the relationship between France and the francophone African countries that France colonized. Megan did an internship with the African Regional Services in Paris, France where she learned about how francophone countries have been poorly treated by France and how France is trying to help these countries evolve while still maintaining control of a lot of their assets. Outside of this, Megan also did a project during her junior year summer in which she created a website alongside other Sacred Heart students that focused on the injustices faced by incarcerated people specifically in Chicago, U.S. and the work that must be done to humanize them so that the public may treat them with the respect they deserve.

Megan is new to the Kellogg Institute and excited to develop her research skills by being matched with Kellogg Faculty Fellows. She is currently developing her French skills and hopes that this will help her be able to gain a better understanding of the complicated relationship between France and francophone countries.
