About

Max Sombong '28 is majoring in Economics with minors in the Hesburgh Public Service Program and Education, Schooling, and Society. Sombong is interested in researching government policy, particularly economic, developmental, and educational policy. His ultimate goal is to become a board member of the Illinois Department of Education and reopen his grammar school, which closed due to economic hardship. As a member of the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Sombong plans to strengthen his research and analytical skills by collaborating with Kellogg faculty and peers. He hopes to apply these skills in his future career as a well-equipped policymaker and economist.
