Marcela Ternavasio

Marcela Ternavasio is professor of history at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, a CONICET researcher, and a member of Argentina’s National Academy of History. She also teaches in the Graduate History Program at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Her current research focuses on the intersections of politics and diplomacy in the Iberian world in the period of the revolutions of independence and restoration. Her publications include Los juegos de la política. Las independencias hispanoamericanas frente a la contrarrevolución (Siglo XXI/PUZ, 2021); Candidata a la Corona. La infanta Carlota Joaquina de Borbón en el laberinto de las revoluciones hispanoamericanas (2015), Historia de la Argentina, 1806–1852 (2009), Gobernar la revolución. Poderes en disputa en el Río de la Plata, 1810–1816 (2007), and La revolución del voto. Política y elecciones en Buenos Aires, 1810–1852 (2002), all from Siglo XXI; and Historia de las elecciones en la Argentina 1805–2011 (El Ateneo, 2011). She received her doctorate from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
