Khadijat Atere is a pre-doctoral research associate at the Ford Program in Human Development Studies and Solidarity within the Kellogg Institute at the University of Notre Dame. Her research interests lie at the intersection of education, sustainable development, and data-driven policy, with a focus on generating evidence that can inform practice and improve development outcomes.
She previously served as a graduate research assistant with the Ford Program, contributing to projects on education policy in Ghana, mental health research in South Africa, and broader program evaluation efforts. Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, she has also worked on a graduate consultancy project with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), examining strategies for scaling agricultural and nutrition projects in Bangladesh; with COOPSSUR, supporting cooperative structures for sustainable livelihoods in Peru; and with Vertex Atlantic Architects in Nigeria, advising on sustainable practices and green infrastructure.
Khadijat holds a Master of Global Affairs with a concentration in sustainable development from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is passionate about advancing educational opportunity and environmental sustainability through evidence-based research.
