Katie Ford '28 is a Science Pre-Professional Major with minors in European Studies and Peace Studies. This past summer, she interned in Mumbai, India, at a private children's hospital, where she observed surgeries across all specialties. This experience helped her to understand the healthcare system in a developing country, recognizing gaps in technology and medical access. She is active in the Laura Miller-Graff's BRAVE Lab, which studies familial resilience after violence and trauma. The lab also works to provide psychological support for families.
Katie is interested in researching health care systems and the effectiveness of humanitarian aid in war torn countries, particularly the Middle East. She would also like to research international law and its role in peace negotiations and international security. Outside of research, she is a patient care assistant for a student, volunteers at a dementia center and the Ronald McDonald House, and is a member of AMWA.
