About

Julia Flood is a current sophomore majoring in economics with minors in social entrepreneurship & innovation and Chinese. She is originally from Fanwood, New Jersey but now lives in Breen Phillips Hall on campus.

Julia’s research interests lie in international development and methods of poverty alleviation, specifically in understanding the impact of business, education, and entrepreneurship. Last summer, she participated in the Entrepreneurship and Empowerment in South Africa (EESA) program in which she spent six weeks consulting for disadvantaged entrepreneurs just outside of Cape Town. Julia’s immersion in various cultures through both her transformative experience with the EESA program and years of studying Chinese has sparked her desire to understand challenges faced by our global community and pathways to overcome.

As part of the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Julia is excited to cultivate her research skills while learning from and with passionate faculty and fellow students.
