Abroad: Paris, France – AY 2023-24

Libby Eggemeier is a junior from California studying history, European studies, and French. Last year, she worked with Professor Sonja Stojanovic, an assistant professor of French whose research interests include immigration, migration, and women’s rights. Eggemeier researched the intersection of gender equality and labor movements in modern European history. Last summer Eggemeier interned at the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin, and will continue her study of foreign politics, security, and diplomacy abroad for the entire next academic year at Sciences Po in Paris.

On campus she is involved in student government, serving as the Class of 2025’s Vice President from 2022-2023. She was also a board member of the Student Coalition for Immigration Advocacy, and is passionate about cultivating civil discourse between polarizing political groups on campus through her position on BridgeND’s board. In addition to the Kellogg International Scholars Program, Eggemeier is a member of the Glynn Family Honors Program and the Notre Dame Scholars Program, and was a Diplomacy Scholar in the Nanovic Institute.
