Allison Barkasy is a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame, studying history and business economics. She is particularly interested in the impact of educational reforms on women's development in Latin America and how increased access to education can drive socioeconomic change. In the summer of 2024, Allison traveled to Cusco, Peru, with the Kellogg Institute, working on educational projects that aimed to empower young women through enhanced academic opportunities. As part of the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Allison seeks to further explore how historical trends in educational policy have shaped gender equity and development in Latin America and around the world. She is eager to refine her research skills and collaborate with the distinguished faculty and staff at Kellogg.
