Alexalin (Lexi) Gonzalez Madrid holds a Master’s in Anthropology from Georgia State University (2018) and a B.A. in Ethnohistory from the National School of Anthropology and History in Mexico City (2013). Her undergraduate thesis research focused on agrarian history and Teenek identity in the Huastec region in Mexico, and her Master's dissertation focused on refugee resettlement agencies in the US. She has six years of professional experience in domestic violence organizations working with immigrant families in the US.
Current Research
Interest in legal anthropology and conceptualizations of gender violence in indigenous legal systems. She intends to examine narratives and discourses
of violence, justice and safety in legal processes in Mexico.
