O'Connell, a vice president at American Express (AXP) in New York, is responsible for providing extraordinary service for American Express customers worldwide through the management of approximately 25 global service partners. She has held various management positions during her more than 15-year career at AXP, including vice president of Global Merchant Services Pricing & Capabilities, vice president of US Consumer Card New Product Development & Strategic Initiatives, vice president of US Membership Rewards, and others. Prior to joining AXP, she was employed by Accenture in New York.
O’Connell holds an MIA (Master of International Affairs) with a concentration in international economic policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. A 1996 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she majored in both political science and Spanish and was the recipient of a Kellogg Institute fellowship.
