Exploring Secondary Education Pathways in Uganda

Faculty Research Grant
Grant Year
2009-2010

The objective of the current research proposal is to explore and identify the emerging pathways of secondary education in Uganda. Using funding support from the Ford Family Program’s Faculty Research Seed Grant, the research project would engage a purposive sample of key stakeholders from Ugandan Government, private sector, and school leadership personnel; and capture their experiences of and recommendations towards content, delivery, governance and labor market linkages of secondary education in Uganda. Bringing together the school leadership, public administration and business sector representatives, the proposed research aims to prioritize skills and capacities that are required in Uganda’s emerging economy and help formulate strategic choices in the secondary education sector that might align student outcomes with the needs of the global skills’ market.
