The Luksic Conference will be held at the Instituto de Economía at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) in Santiago, Chile in March 2014. The aim of this conference is to foster a closer relationship between the economics faculties of the University of Notre Dame and the PUC. All presenters are faculty members affiliated with the two institutions and the keynote speaker is Hugo Hopenhayn (UCLA), who is one of the leading scholars in dynamic macroeconomics and his participation raises the conference profile considerably. Alder is presenting a working paper with the title “A Tale of Two C(...)s: Competence and Complementarity.” The paper’s main contribution is a novel dynamic theory of entrepreneurship with a broad range of applications in both developing and developed economies.
