Faculty Research Grant
Grant Year
2017-2018

Research for book project tentatively titled “Biopolitics and Colonialism in Early Modern Latin America,” co-written with Professor David Solodkow (Universidad de los Andes, Bogota Colombia). This project focuses on my main research fields of colonial Latin American studies and Latin American cultural history, it reflects my interdisciplinary formation in law, literary studies, and anthropology, and also furthers my current work on biopolitics, ethnography, and coloniality. I have been working on this project for the last two years and have finished chapter 1 and 4 as well as parts of the introduction. Chapters 2 and 3 will be researched in Mexico and Colombia respectively and written during Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.
