REPORT:

I attended the "JSD Symposium: The Next Generation of Scholarship" held at the University of Washington Law School, onOctober 7, 2023. I was honored to present my paper, "What You Don’t Know Will Hurt You – Fighting the Privacy Paradox by Designing for Privacy and Enforcing Protective Technology," at the conference.

The symposium lived up to its reputation as a vital platform for JSD candidates to showcase their research, explore the latest developments in legal scholarship, and engage in valuable networking opportunities. I met JSD candidates from all over the country and created connections that are vital for my line of work. These connections will undoubtedly contribute to the continued development and refinement of my research.

My presentation garnered significant interest and sparked engaging discussions among fellow scholars and attendees. The interdisciplinary nature of the symposium allowed for fruitful conversations with scholars specializing in various legal fields, enriching my understanding of the broader implications of my research.

The feedback received on my paper was constructive and insightful. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the paper's exploration of the privacy paradox and its call for consumer-oriented legislation to protect digital privacy. Several scholars from different institutions showed interest in potential collaborations or further discussions on related research topics.

Most importantly, presenting at the symposium allowed me to hone my public speaking skills and prepare for my Kellogg Lecture that took place on November 14, 2023.
