About

Clare Bath is a doctoral student in sociology at the University of Notre Dame and a PhD fellow at the Kellogg Institute of International Studies. She holds a BA in Political Science and History from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (2021) and a MA in Peace and Justice from the University of San Diego (2023).

Her research interests are situated at the intersections of social movements, religion, and transnational sociology. Clare compares tactics used by civil society to affect change in national political contexts in what scholars often call the Global South. She is especially interested in how institutions maintain geopolitical and/or international hegemonies.
