Kayla is a third year graduate student in the Department of Sociology. Her primary interests include social psychology, group processes, status, identity, and emotions. Her status research investigates status hierarchies that develop in small groups. Often, certain status characteristics (ie. race, gender) prevent an individual's voice from being heard in the group. My goal is to develop ways to help overcome such barriers, which promotes equality and democracy.
I study group processes, status, identity, and emotions.
