Kellogg Global Democracy Fellow Brandon Na '28 is spending the summer at the Polo Integral de la Mujer, a provincial government institution supporting women and children experiencing gender-based violence through legal, psychological, and protection services.
Na is working with the Área Atención Integral a las Mujeres Migrantes, where he helps migrants navigate immigration-related paperwork and documentation processes. He also has had opportunities to accompany his supervisors to government meetings with ministers and legislators, gaining a close-up view of public institutions in Córdoba.
Beyond the workplace, Na has been exploring the city, getting to know his host family and roommate, trying new foods, and adjusting to daily life in Argentina. One of his biggest challenges has been adapting to Argentine Spanish - fast-paced, full of local vocabulary, and different from the Spanish he expected - but he says he is improving every day.
Through his fellowship, Na is learning from local institutions and community partners working at the intersection of migration, protection, and democratic engagement. He is a sociology major with a minor in the Hesburgh Program of Public Service.
