Faculty Fellow Guillermo Trejo (political science) was quoted in a new article in the New York Times about Mexican President-Elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador backtracking on his campaign promises.  These changes are due to the  complex security and economic issues facing the politician, including the rising murder rate and impunity associated with the government's drug war.  In response to this issue, Trejo says "The challenges are extraordinary, and the victims have the right to truth and justice."
