The Kellogg Institute for International Studies, part of the University of Notre Dame’s new Keough School of Global Affairs, is an interdisciplinary community of scholars that promotes research, provides educational opportunities, and builds linkages related to democracy and human development.

Juan Carlos is a first-year Ph.D. student in comparative politics. In his doctoral work, Juan Carlos plans to examine the factors that affect the quality of policing in Latin American countries. Before coming to Notre Dame, Juan Carlos received his B.A. in Political Science from Wayne State University in May 2020. Following his graduation from Wayne State, Juan Carlos was the recipient of the department’s Outstanding Bachelor's Degree Graduate for 2019-20.
