Juan Carlos Hernández Briones, originally from Alicante, Spain, graduated summa cum laude from Mercyhurst University with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Economics and Mathematics. He previously served as a research assistant, focusing on labor market dynamics in Hispanic countries. He is currently a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Economics and a PhD Fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. His research interests include labor and public economics, with a particular emphasis on inequality and poverty.
