AmericasBarometer

In partnership with Vanderbilt University’s Center for Global Democracy, a large-scale, comparative public opinion survey that measures democratic values, political behavior, and governance across the Americas

In support of the 2025-26 AmericasBarometer survey round and the accompanying Pulse of Democracy report, the Kellogg Institute, part of the Keough School for Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, partnered with Vanderbilt University's Center for Global Democracy to help ensure the continuation of the leading comparative survey of public opinion on democracy and governance in the Americas following significant reductions in international public funding.

Building on the longstanding strengths of both institutions in the study of democracy, the collaboration spans the full research process – from questionnaire development and survey implementation to analysis, publication, and public dissemination. Kellogg faculty fellows Abby Córdova and Luis Schiumerini contributed to the development of the 2025-26 survey questionnaire, and the institute is collaborating with the Center for Global Democracy on the analysis, publication, and public release of the findings through the Pulse of Democracy report, a joint launch event at the University of Notre Dame's Keough School Washington Office, and additional public events and outreach across the Americas.

By combining rigorous survey research with broad institutional networks, the partnership helps ensure that comparative evidence on democratic attitudes and governance reaches scholars, policymakers, journalists, practitioners, civil society organizations, and other audiences working to strengthen democracy throughout the region.
