Tips for making the most of the workshop

There is no resource that provides a list of all available jobs in international fields or explains how to get those jobs.  The best way to learn what is available and what you need to do to prepare is to talk to others. The International Career Workshop offers opportunities to learn about what options are available to you as well as a chance to network with professionals who can offer you practical advice as well as provide contacts for others who may be able to help you. Your goal should be to walk away from the evening with the name and contact information of at least one person whom you will meet with again to talk about your next steps.

To make the most of the day, before you arrive at the Hesburgh Center, be certain to read all of the bios and determine whom you would like to meet.  Then check out the program to find out when and where those professionals will be available. Plan a schedule. Think ahead and write down questions that you would like answered.  Plan to be an active participant and be certain to ask the questions you need answered.  If you don’t get all of your questions answered or you would like to talk with one of our speakers again, be certain to get their contact information and ask if you can set up another time to meet with them.
