Mobility, Society, and Governance in North America

University of Notre Dame

Transportation and Travel

Program participants should book s round-trip air ticket to South Bend, Indiana (SBN). Students will be met by a representative from the University of Notre Dame at the South Bend airport and brought to Notre Dame.

ND CampusOccasionally (due to unexpected high airfares) it may be preferable to book travel into Chicago. In this case, students would then take a United Limo bus from the Chicago airport directly to the Notre Dame campus.

Housing and Meals

Don’t just move your stuff in. Become a member of the family.

The Notre Dame spirit is nurtured in its unique residence hall system. You’ll be randomly assigned to one of our 28 residence. You’ll participate in hall government, play on interhall athletic teams, attend Sunday night hall Masses, go to dances, and create service initiatives.

The University has two large dining halls on campus as well as over 15 other restaurants and cafés.  There are a variety of different options for meal plans on campus.  Please visit the Food Services website to browse the various options and determine which plan would work best for you.

BasilicaReligious Life

At Notre Dame, there are plenty of places for you to reflect and pray. You’ll enjoy a sense of peace and serenity when you light a candle at the Grotto; feel like dancing when you hear the drums of the Folk Choir in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart; and develop a deeper sense of friendship with your hallmates when you attend Mass in your residence hall’s own chapel.

The world is shrinking. More than ever before, technology and worldwide access to the Internet have brought people from varied cultures and faith traditions closer together. Social and workforce networking is coordinated globally with the click of a mouse or the push of a button. Cross Cultural Ministry is dedicated to preparing students for this 21st century world by reverencing our sacred and universal bond in the programs we offer. Retreats, Mass, prayer services and other cross-cultural programming are available to nurture familial faith traditions and ethnicity, and provide social experiences for students to foster healthy relationships, develop an expanded world view, and enter into a human experience of the universal Christ. Cross Cultural ministry is open to everyone, regardless of ethnicity, class or creed.
